It was a great week to be a member of the Duke basketball team as the Blue Devils took on two of the ACC’s weaker teams in Virginia Tech and Boston College. The lower level of competition allowed Mike Krzyzewski to play his full stable of players and the freshmen took advantage by having some […]
A back-and-forth first four minutes made it look like Duke was going to be in for another battle with ACC foe Boston College, but the Blue Devils made quick work of that notion by rattling off separate runs of 12-0 and 12-2 to earn a 51-27 lead at the break. Career days from Rasheed Sulaimon […]
Virginia Tech jumped out to a 4-0 lead and that was where the game may as well have ended for the Hokies. Duke went on an 11-0 run, eventually stretching the lead to 48-28 at the half on their way to an impressive 88-56 dismantling of the lowly Hokies.
Sorry for those of you who spent your Monday without the Rookie Report, but now that the internet issues have been sorted out we can get back to sorting out Duke’s freshman ballers. This was another up and down week for the Blue Devils as they scored a solid win over rival North Carolina before […]
Everyone remembers their first time….playing in a Duke/North Carolina game. That first time a player takes the floor in the greatest rivalry in college basketball is one that no freshman will every forget and Rasheed Sulaimon made sure his memory was a good one on Wednesday night.
The Duke Blue Devils once again finished a week of ACC basketball with a 2-0 record. That’s the good news. The bad news? After winning a statement game against N.C. State on Thursday, the Blue Devils laid a bit of an egg on the road at Boston College for one of the weirder two-game stretches […]
Duke’s sports information department may be one of the best groups of in the business. In addition to all of the great work they do with their audio and video highlights, they put out some awesome game note packets every week and the notes for the upcoming game with N.C. State are no exception.
Duke scored two solid wins this week behind the play of their two senior stars, Mason Plumlee and Seth Curry. Plumlee was a relative non-factor against Florida State, but his 32 points against Wake Forest keyed the victory. Curry, on the other hand, scored 21 points in both games while shooting 6-of-13 from three-point range.
What a difference one game can make. After shooting just 2-of-14 from three on Wednesday against Wake Forest and riding Mason Plumlee to their first road win, Duke flipped the script to get a blowout, 79-60, win over Florida state behind an 11-for-18 mark from three and just eight points from Plumlee.
Earlier this month, Duke hosted Wake Forest and took care of business with an 80-62 win to begin their ACC schedule. When the Blue Devils face the Demon Deacons on Wednesday, however, they will do so without senior Ryan Kelly whose 22 points tied for the game-high and were one of the keys to victory […]
